CANADA - FRANCE HAWAII TELESCOPE (CFHT)
The Canada-France Hawaii Telescope is located atop Mauna Kea in Hawaii, like the IRTF, VLT and JCMT telescopes. Within the EuroVenus consortium, the main use of this telescope is for direct measurement of cloud-top winds of planet Venus by measuring the Doppler shift of spectral lines using the "Echelle SpectroPolarimetric Device for the Observation of Stars" (ESPADONS) instrument.

With ESPaDOnS, the complete optical spectrum, from 370 to 1050 nm, is collected over 40 spectral orders in a single exposure at a resolution of about 80,000.
